One place in BC that I like is a ghost town named Barkerville.
You travel on highway 97 to Quesnel and turn right heading for
Williams Creek. Barkerville is way up in elevation so dress
warm. I remember being there in late June it was about 18c
the sun went behind the clouds it dropped ten degrees in an
hour.
I remember years ago going to Historic Barkerville. The info in the travel brochure was so intriguing. It was part of our 'honeymoon trip' it was July. Unfortunately it was pouring rain so nothing was open to see. So mucky couldn't even walk around and just look. We were so disappointed.
Another place in
Boswell, British Columbia that I thought had the ‘WOW’ factor is the
Glass House is located on the east shore of
Kootenay Lake; approximately 35 km east of the city of
Nelson. Construction started in 1952.
It is "constructed of approximately 500,000 empty
embalming fluid bottles". It looked like a castle. Outbuildings and walkway made from empty
embalming fluid bottles. Google search: embalming bottle house.This site was also part of our 'honeymoon trip' years ago, so may have more buildings, etc.
Search Travel Alberta, and then click places to go. You may not think Alberta has anything to see, but I’ve toured around Alberta over many years and there are lots of things to see and experience. (i.e. Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, Drumheller; Science centres in Edmonton and Calgary; Canadian Rocky Mountains, Banff; Jasper; hot springs; backcountry lodges, trophy fishing; hunting; shopping; camping; hiking; and n and on….
