...unless of course, one lives in a rural area where there are no cell phone towers. Everyone I know out here has a land line.
yes that's what Tax said too...I'm surprised satellite doesn't work regardless of where you are but I'm sure it's coming.... someday... :-D

I haven't had a land line in over five years

I was watching a doc on China years ago now - there in the middle of his rice paddy, hundreds of miles from a city, stood a Chinese farmer with his cell phone. Mind you, he did not have indoor plumbing and his house left a lot to be desired - I guess the moral is - be happy with what you have.

If you live 100 Miles from the United States you can get Free to Air Digital TV from the USA.

For example, if you live in Vancouver, BC or Windsor, ON or even Toronto, ON. You can get close to 100 channels of FTA.

75-80% of the Canadian population live within 90 miles of the US border.

Ya ok fukk brain.
You still don't get HBO and many others.
Where is your free rant now?
What about the people that think American networks have limited and not very good programming?
Ahh, but I guess you are one of the lowest common denominators that eats that pulp up.

What's the deal, you have PMS or work for the Cable Company LOL.

I get HBO, Cinimax and Starz with my DirecTV.. 300 Channels.

What I am saying is, the folks that have regular cable and who live close to the US border can save money..

If you have basic cable, live close to the USA you can ditch the Canadian Cable Company and save money..

If you live close to Bullalo, NY you can get these channels : Channel List

If you live close to Blaine Washington : Channel List

Search a US city close to you here: TV Signal Locator

For somebody who lives in Windsor, ON having Canadian Cable to a total waste of Money.
Windsor : Channel List

Funny every Cable Package, Bell, Shaw, Telus all offer US channels. Many more than Canadian Channels.

Never said you would get FREE HBO.. if you want DirecTV in Canada do as I said up above, get a mail box, order a receiver and dish from Solid Signal or another supplier, ship to your US address and forward to Canada.

Then install and setup..

DirecTV or Dish.. and trust me, HBO isn't want you want... Starz is what you want.

STARZ - Exclusive Originals, Hit Movies

I have three movie channel packs, but I have been a customer since Feb of 1995.

SAtellite won't work if you are tucked into the south side of a mountain. There are a few places on the coast and probably elsewhere where they just plain don't work. I suspect something in the ground since usually it is where the compass goes funny as well.

Sure it does, but if your tucked into the North Side of the mountain without a clear view of the southern sky you may have an problem.

Over the past few months I have thought a lot about this whole issue
I used to believe we needed a strong Canadian viewing platform not
anymore. We have the CBC and for the rest open it up to full and
complete competition phone internet and cable channels Lets see
how Bell and the other monopoly players do when the Americans come
to the party with cut rates and special deals.

So Bell Is regulated on the channels it must provide, the internet is not. Good old Government regulations.

Don't kid yourself the internet is regulated as well.
Don't believe me?
Check Netflix Canada against Netflix USA, try and sign up up for Amazon Prime Instant Streaming, or just try and check out a radio station from the US. In the first two cases you can't use those service and in the third you may find yourself blocked by the CRTC.

And deeper regulation is coming thanks to Obama and his band of cocksucking fukuppery.

Geostationary satellite won't work if you are tucked into the north side of a mountain. NGSO satellites can work anywhere on the surface.

Yes, regulation of Canadian telecommunications is a major priority of the Obama administration.

Whoops. Too long a day.

Only in theory. Go out in the bush and check it out. Note that where we found problems is well north of where you are.

yes we just a convo about this too...I was all for protecting Canadian business too but we are getting ripped off...when Rogers starts offering me a pre-approved MasterCard and will give me points toward their business you know they have a finger in every pie and they can compete if they want to
