wherever i sit down my ars
I haven't been around all that much. Lived most of my life in Arizona and just recently seen the Grand Canyon for the first time. Been to Sedona several times though. Summertime trout fishing there when I was a kid. Arizona isn't just desert the high country is full of mountains , tall pines , lakes, rivers and streams. Been all over the state and proud to call it home. Up the coastal highway 101 from San Diego to Northern Oregon is really pretty. The giant redwoods, ocean and sheer cliffs make it one of my favorite drives. Beautiful sunsets on the beaches are breath taking. I also love driving through the Midwestern United States. I love the rolling cornfields which stretch as far as the eye can see . I love the little farming communities and the dirt roads which meander through the countryside. I guess each place has it's own beauty and there are places I like that some people wouldn't. There's lot's of pretty places and good people to meet in America if you take the time to stop watching the news and hangin out on the fukkin internet 24/7. And,, if our country is not your cup of tea, then get the fawk out and stay out. I'm sure we'll get by without your scurvy a$$. :).

Any number of northern lakes on the Canadian Shield, at sunset in August, when the loons are calling out their territory.

That's a terrible thing to call Ontarians!

Accurate, sure, but pretty impolite.

Actually, I was thinking all Quebec locations when I wrote it. You've got to go hslf way to James Bay to find a pristine lake in Ontario that isn't full of loons on jet skis. Quebec, on the other hand, is marvelously empty.

Depends if you mean the place is beautiful or just the view.

For just an amazing view the top of Mt Mckinley (Denali for the modern folks) offers a spectacular sight. Also the nighttime vista from the Tung Chung Lo Hon Monastery on Lantau Island lets you see both Hong Kong and Macau.

For amazing places anywhere in the South Pacific. The Yasawa Island group in Fiji and the Cook Islands are standouts. Anywhere in BC outside Vancouver
