Some local news from my area (Bartlesville, Oklahoma), it is an eye stopper ... how in the world does someone who gets convicted of 11 DUIs still be permitted to drive? In order to get all those convictions, he must clearly be drunk all the time.

Bartlesville - A Bartlesville man with eleven prior convictions for driving under the influence has been arrested again after allegedly driving drunk with his two-year-old son in the car.

Jimmy Jack Thomas was arrested Monday for DUI, child neglect, driving under suspension and failure to use child safety restraints.

Police say Thomas' speech was slurred and he staggered into traffic as he got out of his vehicle.

Bond for Thomas was set at 25-hundred dollars and, according to court documents, his next appearance is scheduled for December second.

RE: Bartlesville Man Arre

His bail should of been a little higher. Even if he has lost his drivers license by now, some people still drive. He is a menace and should have had bail at 100,000 or higher so he could not pay it and let him cool his heels in jail for a little while.

Don't know if he lost his license, I hope so.

When it comes to DUIs here in the south, particularly when a 2 year old child is involved, I think the US should follow Canada's approach and take the matter seriously.

Putting the lives of others and his own child at risk is unacceptable.

How true. The child has no say in this matter, and at 2, they have no idea of the risk. But the father does. Eleven DUIs is entirely too many. Even one is too many.
