As someone said, It looked like a major cargo shift that the pilot could do little about. Seven people died
in a fraction of a second.
A number of years ago a DC-8 took off from Toronto. It did the same thing.......went straight up, stalled, and
dove into the ground. I think it was blamed on a small stone that jammed the elevators.

At least it was fast. They may not have had enough time to realize they were going to die. Then again it may have felt like more than a few seconds to the pilots.

Im surprised at the reaction, or lack of reaction rather from the person driving the car with the camera. Just continues on with his day as if nothing happened.

Insiders say it was hit by 2 shoulder launched Stinger type missiles and that a group Karzai is buying services from did this. In short, we paid to have our own 747 shot down. He gets a bag a day of US currency to "Buy" compliance from Tribal Leaders.

There was no explosions, no smoke, etc, until the plane hit the ground The cargo shift theory sounds like the most likely scenario. If a few tons of cargo
on pallets were poorly tied down, broke loose and slid back as the aircraft lifted off, the crew could easily become passengers. Sabotage is always possible, but how?

I hear you... but you know how the first dip on the roller coaster is... and they are not more than 14 seconds.

I caught that too. Not a word or gasp from him. Just another day in Afghanistan?

Although this seems like an open shut case Juan... it is great having a pilot (you) in CanCon to educate us on matters regarding aviation. I always look forward to you filling us in on these matters.

Not everyone talks to themselves, and he was driving around the scene not carrying on with his day. There was literally nothing he could do, and working there he had to know that everyone say it, it's not like he needed to radio it in. His reaction of 'aw ****', and driving around, doesn't seem out of step.

On the afternoon of Monday Apr. 29 a civilian Boeing 747 cargo plane taking off from Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, crashed killing all on board.

The doomed B747-400 cargo plane was operated by National Air Cargo and thought to be the example carrying registration N949CA (unconfirmed).

The aircraft had been contracted out by the U.S. military and had arrived at the base the previous day. Eye witnesses said that the 747 had taken off normally but once it had reached an altitude of around 1,200ft the nose pitched up violently leading to a subsequent stall.
There are rumours that radio frequency monitors heard the crew report that the load had shifted just prior to the crash: the heavy cargo plane pitched up past the point at which the crew could not recover; the resulting drop in airspeed made the aircraft stall and that close to the ground there was nothing the crew could do.

National Air Cargo made a statement to Reuters by phone stating “We did lose all seven crew members,” although their nationalities have not been released.

The Taliban released a statement saying that they were responsible for the crash but ISAF (NATO’s International Security Assistance Force) said that there had not been any insurgent activity around or near the base when the incident took place, therefore it would seem the Taliban tried to use this as a bit of a publicity stunt.

The tragic event comes only few days after a U.S. MC-12 military surveillance aircraft crashed in bad weather.

It's like something from a movie.

It's much more disturbing in real life, though.

pentagon, with 90+ camera shooting, you have only this ...

picture very related

Just sayin'. ;-)

p.s. 'twas about the bogusy-looking timestamp in the video.

14 seconds .

I don't think anyone lived through the first second after the aircraft hit the ground.
I notice that the company that owned the aircraft, have identified four of the seven
people on board. I wonder who the rest were.

Third rock from the Sun
im curious now too if about this being real.....

CNN had an article about the people who died, and then the next day there was a video questioning the authenticity of the entire event...

Doing a google search now, it seems to have been real..... Why would anyone or any agency say it wasnt real??
