The days of suicide bombers and terrorist snipers may be over, autonomous drones and/or autonomous weapons will change malcontents strategies, arm a drone(s) with victims' digital data and he/she will be endlessly hunted. A hawk like mccain must dream of the possibilties.
Autonomous drones set to revolutionize warfare - 60 Minutes - CBS News

Somehow I don't think there will be much of an impact on suicide bombers. Not unless drones are able to determine who they are before they attack. Anti-terrorist experts have been trying for years to figure out a way of dealing with them and have yet to come up with a solution. Drones have shown that they can operate very well as terrorist weapons themselves, but other than killing terrorists in their home territory they have not been able to stop terrorist acts. I don't see that changing.

That's the point, why blow a perfectly good terrorist to smitherines when a drone can be more effective, precise and readily replaced whilst the saved suicide bomber can spread terror elsewhere. Heavy trucks are more in vougue as weapons and self driving cars have to be attractive with drones imo also on our malcontents wish list.

Drone Strikes Fuel the Hatred that Led to Paris Attacks, Ex-Drone Pilots Say
In the past week, hawkish politicians and government officials have seized on the terrorist attacks that killed 129 in Paris in a renewed push for various counterterrorism agendas.

Now four former US drone operators who took part in remote assassination missions in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere are pushing back, describing in intimate detail the inner workings and culture of the US drone program, which they say is fueling the resentment that drives the kind of violence recently seen in Paris.

“We came to the realization that the innocent civilians we were killing only fueled the feelings of hatred that ignited terrorism and groups like ISIS, while also serving as a fundamental recruitment tool similar to Guantanamo Bay,” the former operators wrote in an open letter to President Obama, CIA director John Brennan, and Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter. “This administration and its predecessors have built a drone program that is one of the most devastating driving forces for terrorism and destabilization around the world.”
