Autonomous cars could save Canadians $65B a year - Technology & Science - CBC News

According to the article it can save a lot of money and would solve congestion problems and car ownership would not be that important on the other hand it would make a lot of jobs obsolete but that's what technological change does and new types of jobs spring up.

2016 is around the corner and 10 years will be a reality just as long as it takes to build a subway.

What do you think?

There is something that bothers me about the idea of a car driving itself, Kit aside. One thing is for sure, it would have to be one heck of a car to withstand some of the things that rural Canada can throw at it.

This is a repeat of the Jetson flying car pitch of half a century ago. It also could have saved us trillions.
