As rent has become more expensive in Metro Vancouver, some advocates say it is one of the reasons women are forced to live in uncomfortable situations.
According to a new report from rental accommodation website Rentals.ca, the average rent in Vancouver is up annually by 15 per cent for one-bedrooms, at $2,604, and up 19 per cent for two-bedrooms, at $3,648.
So what kind of pisses me off here is the idea that somehow MEN aren't uncomfortable in this situation or that MEN aren't forced to do exactly the same thing. It's only women - apperently there's an endless supply of affordable housing out there for the males that women can't access.
The guy is in exactly the same boat - when the woman with 2 kids and a dog moves out he's got to move as well because the 2-3 bedroom unit they were in is too much to afford on his own. So he's got to find a place. And a lot of the time he's got the dog.
Our society has such a hatred of men - we should ALL be concerned that a women is uncomfortable but men? Screw the scum. Who cares if they suffer, they deserve it after all. That's our society.
