You know, when I got up from diner with my girlfriend, put my dishes away, then plopped down in the computer chair to check the news, I've gotta admit....I didn't see this coming. JoBenet Ramsey news? I mean it'll be 10 years ago this December....just not something you expect to see. Kind of blindsides you....

These are the cases where the media gets unnerving. Today one of the CNN anchors catches up to the father and asks "what has been the most difficult part of this ordeal"? I guess she expected him to open a can of worms with a rant. He responds with the blinding glimpse of the obvious - "losing my daughter".

My bet is it'll be another goose chase. With no goose. But it will allow the newstands to bloat with new coverage of the child pageant star and millions of perverts will gloat over the coverage. The age is pedophilic. We do a lot of handwringing and brow mopping in this country and the US over child abuse but news of it sells huge. How are we to save the kids when they're such a dominant commercial target? Historians a century from now will have a field day with our rampant hypocrisy.

Hearing one of the investigators describe the causes of death and actions by the killer it's criminal to think the original investigators thought of the Ramsey's as primary suspects. There is no way either would have done what was done to that poor girl. It was a BTK-like scene and even BTK wouldn't do that to his own family. There should be some justice brought to those original homicide detectives.

The suspect has already confessed to the murder. Although he is stating it was accidental.

I propose they try him here in Colorado, where he'll most likely plea down to 2nd degree murder. Therefore he won't get the death sentence. Because he'll get to live, they should do one of two things:

1. Put him in the general prison population, where justice will be served eventually, hopefully by the business end of a very large prison rapist and then a shank.

or

2. Send him back to live out his miserable pedophilic life in a Thai prison. Which is probably much worse than any U.S. federal pen.

I haven't exactly been following this case closely but I'm glad it is over, at least to the point where they can try somebody fo the crime. It is too bad the Mother didn't live to get at least some kind of closure in the death of her daughter. The guy has confessed so it should be just a question of whether he gets strapped to a gurney and gets the needle or spends the rest of his life in prison. If the put him in with the general population, it probably won't be a long life.

It's no accident to strangle a six year old. It's awful. I must admit I was sick and tired of seeing the poor girls face on magazines and papers many years ago. But I am glad somebody is claiming it now.

I wonder if her parents regret the makeup and hair and trying to make her so adult-like now. I have a hard time not feeling that the whole child pageant thing is pedophilic on it's own.

pedophilia is a crime I will never understand.

I wonder if, like a lot of these guys, Karr has been in and out of the system a few times. I would hate to hear that he was released by some misguided parole board.

What I don’t understand is that, here in Canada, they think they can cure pedophilia! It can’t be cured!! How many times do you hear of re-offences by pedophiles that are let out? They put away armed robbers longer then pedophiles. You can’t make someone change there sexual preferences.

Let's not celebrate quite yet. This fellow who was arrested was in contact with Pat R. before she died. What if he is a nutcase who was slipped privileged info from her with the intent of closing the case and clearing her family? Possible,yes. This may have been her final gift to her hubby and son.

It's a sad case and one that won't have any real conclusion for some time. I just find it more than a little odd that if this lad is the murderer (and rapist, according to him) that that wasn't easily ascertained and followed up on initially.

I suppose that is possible. I never considered this guy might be that looney. They did get some tissue scrapings from her fingernails that might provide the DNA evidence they need. Let's hope.

I just saw this guy on TV.He really doesn't look like a killer,but then that means little.He looks like his mom dressed him,gave him a kiss on the cheek and told him not to let the bullies take his lunch money. I do hope he is the one but I have growing doubts.

As network coverage continues on this case, it looks more and more like our confessor is a kook. Toxicology reports are firm: Jon Benet had no drugs in her system. The accused insists he drugged her. The coroner's report is clear: there was no evidence of penetration. Karr says he raped her. And on it goes. John has his 15 minutes. I hope he's not looking for a book.

He was arrested and convicted in 2001 . 5 counts of possesing child porn. He was on the loose.I guess this is just another example of Canada and the U.S. being similar.

It's an embarrassing week for key American networks. Get one kook, encourage one confession and most of the heavies are off to the races. It's like waking up in Stupidville each morning. John Karr is obviously one very messed up man. He's become the football for some very messed up networks. What important stories have been neglected so that puerile anchors across the US can babble on about this one?

I was watching a video clip on JonBenet Ramsey the other night and I couldn't help wondering if the precocious modleing she was doing attracted the crazy that did kill her.
