Oh, that's a bit over the top, I think. True liberal democracy's a fairly recent invention, with roots in, among other places (like ancient Greece), the separation of religious and secular authorities. Seems somewhat extravagant to me to claim Christianity as the source of that. I'd bet a careful reading of history would show the Christian church fighting that every step of the way.
