Are Canada’s ‘Official Languages’ Still Relevant in Canada Today?

I think it's kind of like hockey and curling being Canada's official sports. One could make as big or little a deal of it as one chooses.

Political distractions from the real issues is what the language debate in Canada is. So much better to say IDGAF and leave it alone.

Official bilingualism is a huge wast of both energy and money. Speak whatever the hell you want at home but English is the working language of the country.

Except where they don't speak English, like in most of Quebec. Local official monolingualism might make sense based on whatever the dominant local language happens to be. If there is any official bilingualism, it ought to be limited to only thso offices that serve more than one linguistic region.

Collecting on past dinners? That's not very classy. It's like "Hey, babe, remember that nice present I got you last Christmas? How bout some?"

Seriously, that approach rarely works.

Your analogy does not fit.

What do you mean? Are French and English Canadians not Canadian?

Like I said, that's your problem.

Unfortunately many of them had gotten told that already at an early age.

Really, many eh. You have percentages? Or do you just have "I heard"?
