Two very different statements meaning two very different things

Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay said planting a flag will not change the claim to the region.

An instance or an object if you will

"There is no question over Canadian sovereignty in the Arctic. We've made that very clear. We established a long time ago that these are Canadian waters and this is Canadian property,"

A global statement. One does not directly tie to the other.

Do they not also teach English composition after the 8th grade in the USA?

MacKay's no leader. He's been bounced around the Defense ministy, Foreign ministry, Belinda's bedroom. He couldn't find his arse with both hands. They don't get to be politicians because they know something.

Nice try.

MacKay was indeed talking about the exact spot where the Russians planted their flag as Canadian property. You can cut it up anyway you want to but in the end you lose per usual.

They obviously do not teach English comp up there if that is your take on what he said.

Please... feel free to keep your head in the sand. The Russians just LOVE Canada. They think Canadians are SO POLITE. Feel better?
