It's hard to understand how the Government can pick CBC and give them $1billion for their programming.

A better idea is to tender this service to the Canadian Tv networks.
The Tender would say;
- compete for a Biilion dollars by outlining what your programming would do for Canada.

The one with the best proposal gets the billion $.

Over a number of yrs they would all get a chance to prove they can do the best job for Canadians!!

We have so many channels here I couldn't be bothered to look for this channel. I suppose there's an easier way, but I really don't care. Conservative media... whoopee.

You really don't care, you mean you like the CBC!!

Just what kind of person makes a decision on a broadcaster without looking at the channel? Ans: a socialist !!

The government 'picked' CBC, and gave them money?

Does the government 'pick' CanadaPost, and give them money?

Doest the government 'pick' the armed forces, and give them money?

I guess no one has read any of Eric Margolis' Op pieces in the Sun eh. He's a real right wing nut. Oh yeah.

I haven't had a chance to catch Sun yet, but I'll give it more than 10 minutes before I run out and complain that its a mouthpiece for the right. I'm kind of all over with my news. CTV, CBC, Globe and Mail, The Sun, I'll even glance in the Toronto Star.

Sure, I could roll my coochy around on my big red ball and pontificate about how bad it is or just draw my own conclusions from multiple sources. How the heck do you pay attention to the news rolling your coochy all over a big red ball anyhow?

Seems somewhat distracting.

Margolis a lefty?

He's not.

He's more of a classic liberal or what some would call a libertarian.

You think he's a lefty becasue he dosen't support imperialistic wars and says naughty things about Isreal.

Rogue Republican.

Really? When did you start reading my mind. Go roll your cooch on that ball ESP is not your stong point.

So, this is apparently the third day in a row where The Sun have plastered Ignatieff's face on the front page under some sort of extremist headline. Once you open the paper, the articles themselves have actually been less partisan. Seems to be working for their sales and the PC propaganda machine.

Someone needs to explain to them that "controversial" does not mean "misleading."

Ah. Now I understand. You don't have any understanding of the issue. But don't let that stop you from spouting uninformed opinions that someone tells you to have.

I've been watching Sun News for the last 30 minutes or so now and my initial impressions are: Visually, it does resemble Fox News with the way they use on-screen graphics etc. Content-wise, it reminds me of national version of CP24 (news, weather etc etc), mind you, I haven't watched any opinion based segments.

Overall it gets a meh

I was at my Moms for a visit and she truned it on and in the first minute they were trying to split the vote with the Liberals and NDP.

Well played Fox....er....Sun news.....well played.
