It is odd that so many people boinked the same monkey in different parts of the world at the same time.
It has and had nothing to do with "boinking" monkies. HIV has existed at least since the late 50s, probably much longer. Many scientists believe the retrovirus was eventually transmitted to humans through blood-to-blood contact with chimpanzees as they were hunted in Africa.
A friend of mine believes AIDS was developed in a lab under the sponsorship of Ronny Raygun, Anita Briant and Gerry Falwell to rid the world of gays and junkies. They started to panic when straight white kids started getting it. He says there has always been a cure, just not enough deaths to warrant bringing it out yet.
Your friend is wrong. As I said above, the virus has existed at least since 1959 and in the United States, since 1969. All proven. Reagan and his friends, while a disaster for public health, had nothing to do with the origin of the virus that causes AIDS. The reason the homosexual community was affected so much is because of the sexual liberation movement in the 70s and moving foward and combined with, the fact that gay males are more promiscuous than their heterosexual counterparts.
Au Contraire. this news is very important. Just because the culture of violence has perverted so many minds into being violence oriented...........does not mean everyone is. (but you did say "most people"..
This is exellent health news , At the very least a positive step in the right direction. . Will look forward to seeing follow up information coming out now.
Glad to see this posted.![]()
Firstly, this isn't news. The Swiss made this statement several years ago and mainstream media are only now making this public outside of some parts of Western Europe. I'm not glad to see it posted as it makes people more willing to take chances if they believe their partner's viral load is undetectable. Viral load can be extremely volatile, showing undetectable one month and above 1,000 copies of the virus (per 1000mL) the next. As far as I know, HIV positive persons usually get tested for this once every 3 months. So what about between the times they get tested? They may not be undetectable then.
Good news threads.
It's what should be for dinner on the CC.
Again, hardly news. The Swiss have been saying this for years.
I dare anybody to try a grab a chimp in the wild, with or without sex on their mind. She would tear your arms off. Most monkeys would tear your face off at least. Sex with any wild primate would result in serious damage unless they were sedated to a comatose state. Then you might as well pull your own pud or boink a dead chicken.
I've heard that a chimp is 8 times more powerful than the average Joe. Assuming this is correct and assuming Africa didn't even have basic medicine, let alone sedatives or medical know-how when the oldest HIV case existed (1959), the sex-with-monkies theory is blown out of the water.
