I don't see anti-immigration being left or right. I see it as a spiritual issue. It's a matter of having an us-vs-them mentality, the idea that God created not people, but states.
Whilst nation states exist, their governments should have a right to make sure that their public services, such as health and education, don't start creaking under the weight of too many people caused by unchecked immigration.
Immigration in Britain - already an overcrowded country, especially compared to an empty one like Canada - is causing just that. It's putting a strain on things like the NHS and school places. The people of Boston, Lincolnshire, a town with a lot of Poles, will tell you that. It's no wonder that UKIP did very well in Lincolnshire.
