i do recall people dying under ontario conservative mike harris’s reign of terror like closing hospitals when toronto was having a population explosion and more people that were becoming elderly. Thanks to mike the wait times in hospitals increased dramatically and ambulances were being turned away from hospitals that were full, some people died in the ambulances as the drivers were searching for a hospital like the boy with an asthma attack who lived two blocks away from a hospital that was full. So they were dying more than starving.
