Well Ok, you can keep the damn house then...just as long as you sell OUR oil for us at a good price...
Ah now Vanni, you know full well that natural resources are the property of the provinces as guaranteed by the constitution. I am sure that the new constitution of Alberta will reflect this as well.
Long live the Republic!!!![]()

Yes...but you won't be a province anymore though will you blue...so therefore, you will relinquish that right...MY constitution will no longer apply to you...
We may let you rent the land though...if you promise to be a good tenant...

's a shame we won't be able to import any of your beef..Mad Cow,you know![]()
All the more for us, besides, why would Canada want to deprive itself of the best beef in the world? Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. Or tastebuds. What do you think you're eating now?

But then we may ask for all our transfer payments back. And somehow, I think that if the oil companies have the choice between Canada or Alberta doing the developing, Alberta will win every time. You all don't like us anyway, so I cannot see why you would not just say take your stuff and go. We will all be happier, you won't have to put up with us, and we won't have to pay for and put up with you. Seems like a win win for everyone.
Long live the Republic!!

unspoken said:Just a question...you say OUR oil, as in all of Canada's. But if Alberta were to seperate and Canada would try to claim the oil as theirs, wouldn't that mean that Alberta has a right to partial ownership of resources in other provinces? Somehow I don't think that would fly

-er, I did mention something above eh.
Jo Canadian said:From my encounters there, it's a small minority. It's a fun topic to discuss when drinking beers, but in comparison the Quebec separation is about x10,000 larger than what's in Alberta. The ones active in it are usually quite loud which is why it we end up hearing about it more often than not.
