I'm American and I'm not worried. I also am not worried that people from Mexico come to this country. There's people from every ethnicity in the world coming to this country and have been for a long time. It is those people that make up our population, "native" Americans came thousands of years earlier. Whatever problems we have is a part of our multi cultural society. It's not like any particular "foreigner" is going to make things any worse than they are now. The criminal element will be here as it always has whether we allow these peoples in or not. Not to beat it into the ground but all of this country is a product of migration. But now we puff out our chests and be isolationist and protectionist like somehow we've become natives . None of us are. Not even the "native" Americans. In the past generation we've become accustomed to our lifestyle. The fear is that somehow someone from somewhere else is going to move here and take that away. The extremists of the world will continue to wreak havoc like they've always done regardless of our immigration policies. Why not just say it as it is. Do we favor being hospitable to refugees, or do we decide to say no. Whatever the decision, don't justify it for bullshyt reasons. Call it as it is. You want to change the tradition of giving others a chance for a better life, or you do not. That's pretty much all there is to it.
