We have the most water in the world because of the snow. We actually give the US some and then they ban our beef.

I will take every chance I can get to complain about the US. There are a lot of things to complain about when it comes to them. LOL

RE: Americans against Can

Snow is really just fat water, Brazilian guest. All it takes is a little heat and you can drink it.

A couple snow facts...

If you melt snow too quickly, it "burns"...that is it turns directly to steam. It really stinks when that happens. To avoid burning snow put a little water in the bottom of the pot.

Snow in Canada's north has become so polluted in recent years that natives now travel miles to ancient icebergs to get snow and ice that was formed before the pollution.

RE: Americans against Can

Actually water expands when it freezes. Nothing else does. That's why people why don't check their anti-freeze in the fall have cracked blocks by spring.

I don't think all Americans are against Canadians, or vice versa. It's just that in the current state of affairs Canadians are drawing a line between themselves and the Americans. There are some Canadians who feel that the current American administration is a reflection of ALL American people, but this isn't true. Regardless of the "popular" vote recently in the USA, not all American's agree with these views. We just didn't win because the Americans with common sense that can form a rational, well formed opinion are in the minority right now. Remember, that's why we are called the "minority", there are less of us :p
Most American's also hold no ill will against Canada or Canadians. As I have frequented this board more, I have learned there are two classes of Canadians, those who accept each person as an individual, based on what that person believes regardless of Nationality, and those who lump all Americans together based on the fact of where we come from. This is called prejudice no matter where you come from, so really we aren't as different as people may think.

Hi Brazillian Guest,

The story that Canada is covered in snow all winter is another myth of those who have never lived here.

On the West Coast of Canada we rarely have snow. We don't live in igloos and seldom see a Mountie in his/her red jacket or full dress.

Winter snow extends from the next province over, Alberta, right to the east coast for most of the winter. The west coast has a much milder climate and we mostly get lots of rain in the winter. Of course there is snow on the mountains, but that is where we like it and hope it stays there, for skiing etc. We don't even know how to drive in snow here. We make sure we have good rain tires tho.

Our summers are much milder than the rest of Canada too, at least most years. We're not bothered much by huge flies or mosquitos.

Where I live I have the Pacific Ocean one block from my front door and a view of the beautiful mountains behind me. British Columbia has the best of everything and is the best place in the world to live.

Brazian guest - check the map of Canada here http://www.infoplease.com/atlas/canada.html

Remember this map is only showing the LARGEST lakes of all - in the centre of the map, in Manitoba - Lake Winnipeg is about 500 kilometres (300 miles) long! It is, in some places, so wide that a small boat in the middle cannot see either shore. AND THATS just one lake! There are thousands and thousands that are not shown on this map - check an Atlas in a Library sometime.

Canada - by itself has over 7% of all the fresh-water in the WORLD!

I kinda agree with Prometheus. It's really great (sigh) hearing people talk about how American's are intolerant, self-centered, biased, money hungry, prejudiced, blah,blah,blah...and then act in the same ways as those they condemn and are themselves prejudiced against.

To the guest from Brazil, hola. I suggest you go to Alaska.....it's got the North American thing going, it's beautiful, and if you want to teach there, you can earn close to $50,000 a year. I can't wait to go.

Perhaps, after all, America never has been discovered. I myself would say that it had merely been detected.

Jamie there are alot of canadians that don't lump all americans in the same melting pot, we have the same problems here as in america only we are just smaller. We have religious zealots, a broken medical system, a third world country in the arctic, and believe it or not childern that are hungry. We just don't have a george bush yet, but our turn could come down the road, if what I read at a canadain forum yesterday is any indication. But welcome, and yes prometheus is a great american

Umm...Chretien is in the middle, Jamie. He let a lot of his policies be governed by the right side of the party, too. For him to be on left at all would require trying to say that Stephen Harper is a red tory.

double 2, those aren't skeeters in Mission, they're sweet baby birds flying around chirping and singing to make you happy, and once in awhile they kiss ya.

Hi again!
I´m so sorry, I didn´t think that a mistake could cause it. I´m sorry. I don´t know about Québec geography and I was imagine something like Alasca or Antarctica. But here we have lots of river. And I couldn´t explain that.
Thanx for your patience with this brazilian guest.
