If the word is that the U.S. would invade Iran to prevent it from getting nukes, the word would be a 'red herring. Very recently Iran announced it would allow Euros in exchange for oil. So the US would want to maintain its currency as pre-eminent. Yes indeed. As for the oil contracts from Iran with China? You betcha. Check out recent stock trades buying into Alberta's oil patch. Yep. China is gaining a lot of production control.
Alberta's Finest is up on a few points there. China's military upgrading has a way to go but they have ICBMs and an interest in Iranian oil. They are buying oil supply with US dollars. They are buying out Canada's steel industry through third-party deals. China has learned Capitalist hegemony from the US. I do anticipate this whole mess will be settled by negotiation after a few Persians are assassinated, but China's ICBMs are quite 'dirty' not the neutron type the US has developed for the Iranian bunker system. And Canada would get the fallout.
