America, My Third World Home!

America, my third world home!
How your pseudo-democratically elected dictatorship despises you!
Let's play golf whhile your masses huddle for shelter.
Let's buy Ferragamo shoes on 5th Avenue while your elderly drown.
Let's sip champagne while your cities rot.
It's not the government's fault.
I can't believe Zappa was singing about this 20 years ago and you haven't changed one iota.
America, you have lawless leaders looting your banks and underwear drawers.
The world knows you're a sham.
Everyone wants to lynch your Great Leader.
Because, let's face it, he's a dickhead.
But hey, third world countries get crappy dictators.
Will you ever wake up?
Stop being so nice.
Stop being so Martha Stewart perfect.
Get mad at your government.
Get even.
Overthrow those bums who despise you, who rob you of every last penny, who rob you of your dignity, who smother you in propaganda.
Not even the China Daily distorts the truth as much as your leaders on their foxhunt.
I'm tired of hoping things will change.
Move your collective American ass!

Yea, I grew up Ohio and there are many small rural towns with soo much poverty its like you stepped back in time. It seems that large cities in this region are home to "stereotypical black ghettos", while the rural areas are mostly white.

He in Canada we don't see that kind of poverty, however many cities like Edmonton, are seeing an increase in poverty and crime. Over the last ten years it seems the aborigional population has exploded in Edmonton.

Over my travels and experience I would have to say that Edmonton and Winnipeg probably have the worst ghettos in Canada. Some might argue Vancouver but I would classify East Hastings as more of a skid row/druggie street.

In America I would have to say the worst ghettos are found in Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City, and Miami. Surprisingly New York City is the safest large city I have visited in America, crazy huh. I belive the homicides rate is very low and actually was comparable to the Edmonton homicides rate.

Since 1991, New York City has seen a continuous fifteen-year trend of decreasing crime and is now the safest large city in America. Neighborhoods that were once considered dangerous are now thriving with new businesses and housing, and many residents feel safe to walk the streets late at night. Violent crime in the city has dropped by 75% in the last twelve years and the murder rate in 2004 was at its lowest level in over forty years: there were 572 murders that year compared to 2,245 in 1990. Some feel that the implementation of COMPSTAT crime analysis by the New York Police Department in 1994 is responsible for the positive changes.

Overall, New York City had a rate of 2,801.6 crimes per 100,000 in 2004, compared with 8,959.7 in Dallas; 7903.7 in Detroit; 7,402.3 in Phoenix; 7,346.8 in San Antonio; 7,194.8 in Houston; 5,470.5 in Philadelphia; 4,376.0 in Los Angeles; and 4,102.7 in San Diego.

Yes things certainly have improved, thats a good thing. However I think I would take my chances in Edmonton.

your probably right, but i remember reading in the newspaper a few months ago that NYC homicide rate was 2.6 per 100,000 while Edmonton's was 2.4 per 100,000. Very similar and you do have to understand that if Edmonton was the population of NYC.......... ect.
Although because of its sheer size New York would have larger more concentrated ghettos. I'd take my chances in edmonton as well

don't quote me on the stats.

You presume too much...

I'd never consider a hateful little mongrel like yourself a friend...

Now then, care to post some reference to these facts you claim to know?
