they certainly are handling this in a very different manner than last time...

they have turned their logo from the bright red to grey on FB, and there is presence on FB giving whatever info they can as soon as they can...good for them

Cliff needs the opposite.
You should be more concerned with your own mental stability. Mine is fine. I just live in a different reality than you do. Its OK because everybody knows me here. You just keep living in that urban concentration camp and telling yourself you are fine.

It's asinine that planes in this age don't have a foolproof means of being tracked, ie GPS blackbox.

AirAsia article boasted 'your plane will never get lost'
QMI Agency

AirAsia once boasted in an in-flight article that "...your Captain is well prepared to ensure your plane will never get lost."
That was in the April issue of Travel 3Sixty magazine -- just weeks after Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared an hour after takeoff over the Indian Ocean on March 8 carrying 239 people. It has never been found.
At the time, AirAsia apologized for the poor timing of the article and immediately pulled its magazine, which was printed before the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 mystery.
"With deep regret and remorse I would like to sincerely apologize for any offense caused by the Pilot's Perspective article in the latest issue of Travel 3Sixty magazine," AirAsia executive chairman Datuk Kamarudin Meranun said in April, NBC News reported.
"It truly saddens me that this article was released at such an inopportune moment."
Now an AirAsia Airbus 320-200, Flight 8501 with 162 people on board, is the subject of a massive search after it went missing early Sunday.
The plane took off from Surabaya, Indonesia, and was on its way to Singapore when it disappeared from radar.

CNN says a lot of stupid-sounding things. Just yesterday, some talking head was speaking on the necessity of retrieving the CVR so they could hear if there was a bird strike. Probably would have been a good time to take a breath. At thirty thousand plus in a monsoon, if it was a bird, it was metal

Objects that look like plane door, emergency slide spotted in hunt for AirAsia jet

Bodies found... so far no survivors..

At least they have some closure to know what happen, rather than the other plane that just disappeared in to space.
