Why did the applicant have to be non-caucasian? Was he playing the part of everyone who is non-caucasian? Or is there a double standard when it comes to hiring? Can't have two white folks on the same show that would be non-inclusive.
If this Advertisement had stated: Anyone except (insert any other race or female, gay, transgendered,) here there would be human rights lawyers lining up around the block for a piece of the action. And the self righteous horror on the part of the left leaning members would be intolerable as they chanted: RACISM RACISM RACISM.
hmmm, so when the United Colors of Beneton does an ad, and they've already chosen their black model, do you think they keep looking through portfolios for black women? No.
It was uncouth the way the ad put it, but the outrage is hollow and fake.
The reason they did not want a white actor, or a female actor, is that they already had a white female actor, and they wanted to cast a foil for her. It's pretty simple.
BTW, you keep calling it hiring, and it is not. Hiring practices and casting practices are a world apart.
