saying "Cure, I wasn't aware you could cure something that isn't a disease" really isn't constructive.

You can Cure being born with blonde hair, that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with being blond. You can cure being born with a higher IQ by giving the mother some whiskey.

The point being, isn't it the mothers choice what happens in her womb? If the baby just isn't born gay, its not like it will hurt the baby.

Um, major fiddling with nature that humans have done have mostly backfired due to myopia and other failings:

I'm not saying we should stop R&D, just that we should try being a bit more careful abd consider results other than what we intend. Are we prepared for deciding what is a good baby worthy to be born or not? Do we need cures for things that are quite functional but a bit different?

Good answers. I have to say that I really don't see the need to "cure" it, just seemed like an appropriate title for the conent of the article. Early testing for disorders and debilitating disease is one thing, and good to know if you're an expecting parent. Upping hormones to prevent a possibly homosexual child seems excessive, and who knows what too much hormone could lead too, maybe a super horny pervert child.

There definitely are other animals which entertain homosexual behaviour, but I think most cases are bisexual, or just a phase the youngsters go through. Regardless, the similarities to human behaviour are interesting.

What do you mean by TRULY gay? Are you suggesting that some homosexuals are just fooling around with the lifestyle? Hey,you are gay or you are not. There is not a middle ground. If you think so,you are only fooling yourself. I love my buddy but have no desire to bend him over and pretend he is a lonely ewe with come hither eyes.

Absolutely, I think gay people can be separated into different types, and there is only one type who
has "truly" been born gay.
The rest have "chosen" that lifestyle for many reasons.

I am sure I read an article which stated that homosexuality occurs in many species of animal including ducks. The percentage is about the same as in a human population. Not sure of my numbers so am not going to quote rates of homosexuality amongst humans.

Hope the fundie zealot christians and the neocons don't get hold of this info. Next thing you know they will be putting it in our drinking water.

They already put floride in our drinking water along with chlorine....maybe these chemicals cause the gay to be gay....:)...We put clean water down for our cat daily but she prefers to drink from a mud puddle. I know these chemicals have other attributes that make them useful for killing bacteria and building strong teeth, but could it be that Liberace, and Elton John were caused by drinking the water?:):angel9::angel9:
