I hope this thread will provide some well-rounded, easily verifiable facts (none of that "He's a secret Muslim from Kenya" crap). I'll try to keep it updated.

Good thing Obama did recently: In signing the health care reform bill into law, he expanded the Nurse-Family Partnership, a government program operated by state and local governments that sends registered nurses to the homes of low-income expected mothers.

This was a fulfillment of a campaign promise from 2008, as can be read below.

"Barack Obama and Joe Biden will expand the highly-successful Nurse-Family Partnership to all low-income, first-time mothers. The Nurse-Family Partnership provides home visits by trained registered nurses to low-income expectant mothers and their families. The trained nurses use proven methods to help improve the mental and physical health of the family by providing counseling on substance abuse, creating and achieving personal goals, and effective methods of nurturing children."

Bad thing Obama has done: Since January 2009 (the month Obama was inaugurated), the Minerals Management Service has approved at least three huge lease sales, 103 seismic blasting projects and 346 drilling plans in violation of a federal law that says they have to first get the permission of NOAA in order to do. Yeah, that can't be good.

Something good: Congress, in the FY 2010 budget, approved Obama's proposal for a $10 million fund to begin setting up the "20 Promise Neighborhoods Program" within the US Department of Education. This is a program, modeled after the Harlem Children Zone, that is meant to set up 20 neighborhoods for children and their parents in areas of the US with increased poverty and low academic achievement.

Something bad: US Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pennsylvania) says that last summer, someone in the Obama administration made him an offer for an administration job in exchange for him dropping his primary challenge of Sen. Arlen Specter.
