Edmonton is really great in the summer... Winters can be pretty harsh and cold though
yeah she was telling me; here in Ontario even on the bad days ya put your high heeled boots on and your little dress coat and your leather gloves and head out to work...

there she put on her parka, her muckluks, a couple of pairs of leggings, a hat, two pair of mitts, a scarf to cover the face (everything except your eyes) and ya roll out the door.

her condo has air and they told them, they won't need it, as it won't get hot enough...perfect summer weather

Yep, she's insightful. :)

Seeing as how we're not too far apart geographically speaking, there may be a road trip in our future. Maybe? We can at least keep the dream alive for the Captain, yes? ;)

Yep... There's some weird weather systems there and maybe a higher amount of humidity. Generally, AB is pretty dry so you don't get the amplified effects of the hot or cold, but somehow Edmonton bucks the trend.

Regardless, it's summer now (kinda) so your friend will have a much more comfortable existence and lots of opportunity to do the outdoor things in the area.

Of course!... And it's only a dream if you never pull the trigger and make it reality

Guess you'll need to keep the waffle iron hot then. lol

Had to chuckle... As it turns-out, I have 2 of 'em!

I'll tell ya... I lived in Winterpeg for a couple of years and had the chance to spend time in NW Ontario.... Fell in love with the place.

I know that you and SLM don't live right in that area, but I'd imagine that it's only a short drive out there... I'm very jealous

I was born in Northern Ontario and I have remarkably fond memories of the place. In all seasons, lol.

as long as it isn't black fly season, I am way less hardy than I used to be

i like to view nature from comfort...liked screened in, with showers and washrooms and room service, and hot tubs...ya know...old age camping

I was in Kenora and Lake of the Woods region... Spectacular.

I only visited in the summer months, but was told that winter had some real magic as well.

I'm guessing that the scenery would be no different than the perfect Xmas post cards that idealize the time and season

No doubt.. I guess that there ain't enough citronella this side of hell to keep those buggers in check

Hot tubs generally lead to waffles... You know that, right?
