Yeah, and in 1982 interest rates were an unheard of 20%, you don't think that will happen again? Inflation will kick the s*it out of anybody, the speculators will be driving up the grain futures soon when they can't squeze enough cash out of oil.

and your point is? It's nothing new...it's not like it has never happened before. The world didn't come to an end, and anarchy didn't reign.

and how do you bring down the price of a comodity? It's called supply and demand..... less demand...higher supply, means lower prices.... with all of the bitching....do you think that the majority of North Americans would be willing to drastically cut down on the amount of automotive fuel they use? How about every home owner spend the 4-5 thousand required to upgrade their existing 80% or less efficient furnace to a new 95% efficient furnace( I did and saved close to 50% on my fuel bills)or their tank HW system to an on demand tankless system?

I'll tell you right now...it ain't gonna happen.

Canadian consumption is peanuts compared to the USA, China and India have ever increasing needs and the more they buy the more the price goes up soon there won't be enough supply to meet demand. Add to this the speculators running prices up. If this is an Oil Bubble and it bursts, that's good news for us, bad news for Oil Companies, but if there is no supply to meet demand then we have a problem that we've never had before. When they had that embargo in the 1970's that was an embargo; This is a shortage, no amount of a** kissing to the Saudi's will get them to increase production, they won't or they can't, and there really isn't many other places to go to get it.

It's the new law of supply and demand: If demand drops prices need to go up to protect profits; if demand goes up prices need to go up to curb demand.

The funny part in all this is that there is plenty of oil. Just like the global warming myth peek oil is also a myth.

We really have no one to blame but ourselves for being so damn gullible and never paying enough attention to the world around us.

The problem with the elite having so much power is that they are easier to organize than the great unclean masses they exploit. There is nothing innately superior about them except that. Their power is based on the fewness of their numbers and single minded self interest which is enough to devastate every society we manage to build despite them.

We build it; they destroy it.

This is why I'm an anarchist. The cycle will never be broken until we have leaderless societies. Where trying to dominate, control and exploit is a crime against humanity.

All of my family will be fine...that includes my parents on a fixed income, and those of my kids at minimum wage.....how? They are family, and thusly family helps family.... if anybody' has family members, ESPECIALLY PARENTS, that are hurting bad, then they should be looking in the mirror as to where the problem is....not at the government or the corporations.

Well you type like a truck driver. Learn to spell for crying out loud. And just because the oil executives are grabbing big salaries, they are NOT the ones who set oil prices. Neither are the Conservatives. You obviously are oblivious to the facts , so take your grumbling someplace else.

I told you I am not a truck driver. And it is small of you to belittle people who earn their money working hard and honest. You are a f idiot my friend. The oil cartel would not be able to afford to pay such outrageous income to these greedy scum bugs if they were not f you and the rest of us,. You know dick, all you know is that if anyone talks bad about your snow white f losers in Ottawa you call them truck drivers. Get f lost idiot!!!!!!.

La la la la lallallla la land
When the **** will hit the fan you can come back here and tell us it is supply and demand. Is that why the trucking industry shut down London England? You got rocks in your head.

It sure does juan. Take a look at the Bakken formation for example, and do some research on the drilling, production, and stimulation of those wells compared to the drilling, production, and stimulation of conventional wells. It's much more complicated and costly than the work my hubby's company was doing 10 years ago.

Heck, new barrels in the oil sands cost $75 to extract, up from $30 a few years ago.

Yes, but we, I mean "they" do it well.

Lets stop the name calling, I am proud of you, I get irritated when I hear that nothing we can do about the cost of gas. First off we the voters demand that the energy issue automobiles and housing will be addressed by the the federal government thereby insuring that free interprice will not hold the general populace hostage such as today with $1,42.9 for diesel the fuel that used to be so much cheaper. The Feds today are collecting insanity amounts per month from this madness. On CBC the other day it was shown in England for every $2.00 per litter $1.50 goes to the British Government; sourly you don't think that the snow white bone heads in Ottawa are not collecting the same amounts while me and you are paying the unfair rate per litter?

Look between the Futures traders, OPEC, the Oil Companies, the oil executives and the Feds,
all these five pricks are reaping hard working peoples pockets including my own. So, I don't need you telling me I don't know what is going on when in fact it is plain and simple these ****ers are sticking it to us and your philosophy is to get on my thread and knock me be cause I don't sound like a con, but to you I sound like a truck driver. You are telling me to learn how to spell. I never came here telling anyone that I am a grammatical professor neither is this thread a contest on who can spell and can sound intelligent. Here the bone of contention is about insanity fuel prices which affect many ordinary peoples liefs, while a group of ffffffff elete are thumbing their noses at the rest of us. Capiss?. I take the name calling I spouted towards you back.
