I think with all the advancements in technology, cars are safer and more stable then ever yet the speed limit is still 100km/h on the highway. I think that they should rise this!

ok fine, so cars are safer, but do u want to deal with all those accidents daily that would happen if we raised the speed limit? Like ok for those "experianced" drivers fine, but you would want a g1 or even g2 flying by you over 100km/h, they already do anywayz, so raising it will only cause them to drive faster, which makes the roads much unsafer. Cars are safer...true, but they aren't 100% safe...thats the problem.

It's funny if you watch what happens on a daily basis in terms of speed and the difference it makes in getting to your destination faster. A friend and i were going to a large theatre outside of town with a group, we left at the same time from different destinations but the distance to travel was equal. He drives alot faster than i do as i tend to be just over the posted limit within 10km/h. I got there first, as i hit more green lights and he hit all reds. A test conducted in the local area resulted in a 4 minute difference in driving time between the faster driver and a person at the limit, so the gains don't really outweigh the risks in my books. Plus the faster you go the more gas you burn, so in the long run you spend more for your lead foot.

I find it amusing that all the things that bother people about other drivers are the actions which prove a robot isn't driving.

"Oh my god! You changed your mind? How dare you!" "What, you made a mistake! You boob! I have never made a mistake in my life!"

Drivers are people too, they will change their minds and make mistakes and not know the way around new cities. Be prepared for that, or prepare for a rise in blood pressure. As for the speed limit, if they were to name it as people think of it, it would seem to be called "suggested speed". But that's not what it is nor what it is meant to be, which is why they don't raise it.
