The fares have been announced for new union to Pearson-Express train. The regular one-way fare for the Union-Pearson Express train will be $27.50. The fare had been rumoured to be around $29.

People with a Presto fare card will be able to ride the train one way for $19.

Airport workers can get $10 one way-tickets or a $300 monthly pass.

The fares still need approval from Metrolinx’s board of directors, which will meet on Thursday.

The ride between Toronto’s Union Station and Pearson Airport will take 25 minutes. Eighteen trains are scheduled to run 19 times a day, every 15 minutes, Minister of Transportation Steven Del Duca said at a news conference on Wednesday.

The new trains will be equipped with airline check-in kiosks, wi-fi and luggage racks.

Premier Kathleen Wynne called the idea a “faint dream” which is now “on time and on budget.”

“It’ll be a fantastic first impression for those arriving here this summer for the Pan-Am Games,” she said.

It’s estimated that by 2015, it will carry 2.35-million passengers a year.
