The best curlers in the world are gathered in Regina this week to take part in the Ford Men's World Championship. Jeff Stoughton's rink out of Manitoba won the Brier and the right to be named Team Canada. They were outstanding at the Brier and each team member played well into the 80+ percentage throughout the tourney.
Team Canada is taking on Team Switzerland right now and judging by this first end, it is going to be a dandy game. The ice is rock hard with lots of pebble making for straight shots with great finish. Jeff had the hammer in this first end but lost out on a two point score when a tie was declared for second shot. None of the commentators could remember the last time this has happened. Good end for both teams. Team Canada: 1 - 0 after first end of play.
GO, TEAM CANADA, GO!
