I really enjoyed that game. I didn't think Montreal won against any great odds. Montreal carried a lot of the play and with the cooperation of a couple goalposts, the score might have been a bit higher in Montreal's favour. There was more than one occasion where goaltender interference could have been called on Washinton but what the hell, I thought the better team won. Did anyone else think that Washington was waiting for Ovetchkin to win it for them?

Halak was so solid, good for him, 9th round draft pick,
can you believe it, BUT we can't leave out the rest of the
team, very good structure to their play, solid defense and
timely goals, and washington's goalie is nota 'halak' that
is for sure.

Ummm... Washington is a team that it very dependent on their captain's leadership. It's one of their biggest weaknesses. Now that they are through playing, I can admit one of their weaknesses without superstitious fear that I may jinx them.

But of course, from the Caps' perspective, they don't see it as dependence with a negative connotation. Rather they see it as giving Ovi his proper respect.

Yeah, they have some fixing to do with that team, they need
to learn how to play without the puck, and how to play in
their own end. One good example of that is 'when' the
second montreal goal was scored, Green made a ridiculous
lunge at the first player carrying the puck, and left the
player coming in, all alone, and he went in and scored, I
have seen that far too often with green and other players
on their team who don't know how to 'defend' properly.
They can get away with some of that during the season, but in
playoffs, everyone tightens up the defense, and plays a complete
game.

Now that I think about, the Caps could get Ovi to stay or come back by showing Ovi how scattered and confused they are without him. Cause it WOULD be awful. Green would go goth, Shultz would sell his body for money, Backstrom would enroll at DeVry U, and Poti would get recruited by al-Qaeda.
