Toronto is like nothing else on this planet my friend. You can walk down the street on Danforth and believe you are in Greece and then cross the street and be in China, and then again and be India, not for blocks like in some cities but for a much longer distance and they just blend together. No Toronto is not British, though some believe the common tongue here is english and I will admit French is uncommon here. But for those of us who are not blind there is still a french presance. Also if you go by religion everything is here. Actually one of the biggest churches in Toronto is one which you can not hock up to any ethnic community and pretty much sings to Toronto and Canada in a sence is the United Church. But we have a large amount of Mosques, Temples, Catholic, proddy and whatnot churches, plus a dozen or so Hindu temples and buddist temples to boot.
So I'd have to disagree with you Toronto is an English city, some say Victoria is Canada's English city, so you might be thinking of them. But Tornto, nope the only thing english about us, is it is our common tongue here.
