It was a fantastic aircraft, the very best non-jet propeller plane ever made.

She was a beauty, all right. Form and function.

There are certain aircraft that just "have it". The WWII Dornier seaplane designs are often cited for their beauty, but this Japanese plane has always been one of my favourites...

I like planes.....don't get me wrong .............but one of the creepiest things I ever saw was the plane graveyard outside, I think it was Tucson, AZ. Just acre after acre of abandoned planes. It was also kind of sad. You think someone could do something with all the metal and wiring in those things. Just saying. Carry on.

Absolutely. Be sure to let us know when it happens.

Well if you look at the numbers it was sometime between 2001 and 2008 it is a Zombie nation now you see.

I.ve always thought what neat apartments or camps they would make, them and old fishing trawlers.

There you go, an even better use for them. Housing for the homeless...........would have to move them though. There is nothing out there..........which, I suppose it why, besides the dry climate, it is such a great place to park them.

I just googled this because I ran across it in a news item on "Wired" or "Gizmag" or some such not too long ago...

747 Wing House - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've never run across anything where someone used a basically intact plane as a home but I'll bet it's happened somewhere!

I wonder if, in a high wind, the forces of lift, drag, etc., would take over and the "wing house" would move to the next county...
