Wild Turkey was completely hunted out here a couple of centuries ago, along with a lot of other critters. There were none around when I was younger but they are making a slow comeback around here. I doubt that we will have them in our back yards, much but I have seen them in the wilds.
When I lived in the Ozarks them damn birds were everywhere. Still are I believe. Game is plentiful in that part of the US. Actually during deer hunting season it isn't safe to drive anywhere.

Deer are everywhere here, too even right up to urban areas and in suburbs, occasionally. The species around here in the White Tailed Deer. Western Canadians have a considerably larger species called the Mule Deer, which have really long ears like a mile. Anyway, watch out driving at dusk and just before dawn.

Was just (once again) stopped dead in my tracks by the calls of dozens of Snow Geese heading north-I was heading home from work and there they were-I wonder if they'll make it to the Squamish estuary tonight I hope so.
