    F1 Down Under

Boys are back at it again and wondering why so few women as I type. Quite a few changes again for this year with both Ford and Cadillac participating. Cadillac with their own team and Ford powering Red Bull. Mercedes, McLaren, and Ferrari are all fielding top teams amongst the 22 entries. Should...

    Superbore

Amazing to see 75,500 sitting outside in Denver in a late January snow storm and wish I could have been one to plunk down $850 a seat to enjoy 17 points and under 200 yds of offense combined. 3 qb scrambles ruled the day. Solid take for the owners though. Create a superficiality and proper.

Green and White Day in Saskatchewan

    Shouldn't be hard to do.

    Hardy Cup

Regina Rams vs Saskatoon Huskies. Should be a good one with a big crowd on hand. Guessing some will be bussing up from Regina. I knew a former Regina Ram who mentioned the rivalry with U of S was their most intense. One of the reasons why I think a CFL team would do well in Saskatoon.

    Regina Police Services

Not many details but the Chief of Police has been voted off the island. Typical of a todays civil servant to put the benefits ahead Chief of Police voted off the island. What scandalous behavior is this?

    Check your Prestone time

Polar Vortex incoming with predictions of 0 for tonight. Hopefully setting us up for a nice Indian Summer. Either way, it won't be long now and standing water will freeze. Be proactive

    MLB

Go Jays Go but my heart goes out to the fans of the Detroit Tigers. Such a long season to come down to extra innings and lose. The ghost of Denny McClain will have to wait another year.

    Blue Heron sighting

Had one standing along the shoreline this morning possibly looking for some food as the wind was blowing in. Not the first time seeing them over the years but usually only once or twice per year. Beautiful bird with big wings. Just looked up top speed of a Blue heron is 35 mph. Canada Geese...

    Country Thunder

Noticed Jason Aldean played last night which I'm sure would have drawn a big crowd. I guess the smoke made no difference to them.

    Dryden Walleye Masters

Pro fisherman in town this weekend but nice to see some locals holding their own against them. Big question this week is where did the Wintle's catch those big fish. A 10 lb walleye is a big walleye for this area. 93 entries and lots of nice boats. Their at it again today with what looks like...

    Mount Etna

Maybe related to the glacier collapse in Switzerland. https://www.esa.int/ESA_Multimedia/Images/2025/06/Mount_Etna_erupts

    Victoria Day

Classic kickoff to the camping season this weekend with overnight temperatures hitting -3. Makes me laugh to think of those that would have ended up sleeping in their vehicle with the heater on. Rain in our area will kill any enthusiasm for staying another day. And not the first time this has...

    Daytona 500

Expected and yet spectacular when it happens Daytona served up another classic smash'em bash'em finish. Chevy leaves with the bragging rights for the second year in a row. Super happy for Jimmy Johnson who ended up third. He was both good and lucky.

    CFL

CFL is doing its best annual impression of a bush league shits how with teams dumping any contract they don't like and starting from scratch again for the new season. Few off season bonuses ever get paid and players are left to blame for the league becoming overcome with player transition...

    Figure Skating

How is it possible they don't make figure skaters wear helmets at all levels. Seems like a big oversight imo.

    Pacific Palisades Fire

Some strong winds a blowing that fire with more than 10,000 homes destroyed. Conspiracy theorists promoting land grab accumulation style tactics. Can it be another Walmart Super store in the works. Tough day for the people who live there.

    Trump 2.0

Thought a new thread might be appropriate given the times we are in. Guessing with the threat of tariffs on Canadian goods we will see Canada increase whichever metric it is related to defense spending. Unfortunately it is money Canada does not have so the snowball continues to grow.

    Remembrance Day

Lest we forget. One thing they need to remember is that it didn't end with WWII and continues to this day.

    Fatbergs

News of Vancouver removing 50 tonnes of fatbergs from their sewer system is a bit surprising to me. I've heard they have the same issue in London but call it a different name. Years ago there was a nationwide Mr Fixit radio program I think came out of the Vancouver area. Household tips were...
