Canada’s Military current state & equipment

Canada and the Scandinavian countries would make excellent trading partners given our socialist ideologies and geographical proximity. They have done a good job in terms of public sector efficiency that we could benefit from implementing. Somewhat odd is that I can not access the Nasdaq Norsk...

Canada’s Military current state & equipment

Ever hear of Belarus farm equipment? Basically a Mig in disguise with a swather attachment. Some Lada parts are still available as well.

Canada’s Military current state & equipment

One of the disadvantages of the F35 is the need for a designated runway while the Gripen has the ability to takeoff and land on public roads if need be. Obviously the whole matter is very political.

Mark Carney (Trudeau Liberal Replacement) as PM

Still think moving the Capitol to Calgary would be a good start toward a rebuild. It's never going to happen in Ottawa. Also like how Patty Hajdu has been named Minister of Indigenous Affairs being that she is a Finlander from Thunder Bay whose claim to fame was being homeless and then getting...

    Canada 51st State

What they really should do is call us states 50 - 62 and just convert the provinces over. That way once they have broken the union they can pick and choose.

Burning Money - $4+ Trillion USD So Far

Any chance they hold the line on the public sector raises that are tied to inflation coming April 1 ? Money was originally a tool designed to facilitate trade and now it is something we hoard to ourselves. Inflation is just a fancy term they thought up that describes nothing imo

    pope deteriorating

Hearing good news for Pope Francis although clearly at 88 a full recovery is not realistic. For the most part I have found him to be a good Pope and wish him well in his remaining years.

Great heading for the thread Ron. Pierre Berton would be proud. You should consider running as a Green party candidate. :)

Burning Money - $4+ Trillion USD So Far

Any headwind theses days is magnified x 10 with algorithms taking the opportunity to drive the market down. Remember they are making money as they do so. This appears to be a major gale in the making though and will hurt good companies that could go to zero. Small guy will take the hit.

    Trump 2.0

What would the educators do if they did? And this is not to say there can't be private academies and universities. Education is a huge industry. Plus it is a trickle up business where everyone has to make more money than the rung below. Just as good as politics with the holidays and all...

    Trump 2.0

There is a lot of tax payer abuse built into the public education sector. Education in Canada seems to be a provincial affair. Ontario spends $25 billion / year on public education. Everyone thinks and they want them to believe they are doing it on behalf of the students who after graduation...
