That most likely means that they are not a result of purely "natural" (genetics) forces in humans. Which lines up with our research. There's no 'gay gene', altough there seems to be genetic combinations which are much more likely to be gay. So geneology plays a role, but it's also other...

Well the guy who invented the modern idea of policing, robert peel (which is why english cops are bobbies and peelers) laid out his fundamental rules for the idea of police and number one was "the police are teh people and the people are the police". They're supposed to be citizens who have the...

Trudeau announces Amira Elghawaby as Canada's first representative to combat Islamophobia

There's that too. There's nothing quite like the threat of sudden frozen death to keep you on good terms with the neighbors. Plus they helped put up your barn and all, so there's that.

In america yes. They had a few in Britian before then. But in america it really seems to be focused on "military" or agressive names, like swat or scorpion or the like, and you KNOW for most of them theyr'e coming up with a name and trying to figure out an acronym that fits. Nobody ever said...

Any group that must stretch THAT far to come up wiht a cool sounding acronym for themselves should be immediately suspect.

Not if we look at the more standard definition, although you might say that it's "natural" in the sense that it's a logical progression of a person's intrinsic intelligence. But again, if we look at the definition of 'nature' and 'natural' as being in essence those outcomes inherent in a system...

Trudeau announces Amira Elghawaby as Canada's first representative to combat Islamophobia

there are reasons for that tho, that have little to do with the nature of the people. And a couple that do have to do with the nature of the people. The first is that despite having a similar geography we have and always have had a tiny fraction of the people. It's MUCH easier to get along...

Sure, but beer isnt (and frankly the apes are still one up on some of the beer drinkers i've seen. You never see apes saying "hold my friut..."). For that matter most of the things that go into beer are natural (ish), but that doesn't make beer a 'natural' thing. Just made of natural things...

LOL now now - the US has much to teach us. After all, the best way to learn is from mistakes. :) (zing! )

Trudeau announces Amira Elghawaby as Canada's first representative to combat Islamophobia

I'd agree with that saying overall but there's a third catagory here - apathy. He wants the political out come that follows being seen as a 'special friend' to the followers of islam. So his goal isn't evil in that regard. He probably knows that will cause divisions, but he doesn't care.

Trudeau announces Amira Elghawaby as Canada's first representative to combat Islamophobia

I'll ignore the us for right now, but in Canada the periods where racism has been at it's lowest and division has been at its lowest has always been during Tory gov'ts going back at least 90 years. Remember - it was the liberals who Interned the Japanese in ww2 and stole their property...

the fact it's misused by some doesnt' make the concept stupid. It is valueable to be able to distingush that which happens because of it's own accord and that which is caused to happen by a deliberate influence. Not very natural. Beer is also not 'naturally' occurring. lots of things aren't...

Federally funded National Arts Centre event to allow only 'Black-identifying' theatregoers

So what you're saying is if the ethos wasn't strong enough to have a major impact by itself we wouldn't have a law forbidding it in the first place because there'd be less impetus, ergo it's hard to measure which came first the ethos or the law, sort of a chicken and egg situation. Fair point...

Federally funded National Arts Centre event to allow only 'Black-identifying' theatregoers

Sure. But nobody wanted to round them up and gas them. They gypsies, same story. The division was already there. But - the holocaust was not just the natural and inevitable progression of that dislike. That happened for the reasons i noted. And if it hadn't been the jews and the gypsies...

Federally funded National Arts Centre event to allow only 'Black-identifying' theatregoers

IT's more likely that kind of thing would lead to a holocaust. Being deliberately divisive often does. but nonetheless, if a bad thing happens in one case to lead to a good result that doesn't stop it being a bad thing. Murdering children is bad - arguing that maybe that child would have grown...

Trudeau announces Amira Elghawaby as Canada's first representative to combat Islamophobia

I'm honestly not sure - My best friend growing up was jewish and his family included me in a lot of the jewish festivals etc so i never really thought "wow i just met a jewish person' or anything when i met someone else, it was kind of like no big deal. I absolutely have met people who...
