We don't get any time off for working 10-12 hrs but it adds up on the cheques. I hear you about the aging bones. When I turned 65 I quit my 12/14 job and work for a local contractor I know. Works out to about half time.

10 hrs is a normal shift, 12 is common except for highly paid government employees that can live in style on what they get for 7 hrs.
