TIME Magazine Chose Joe Biden & Kamala Harris As Person Of The Year

My choice would have been the front-line Covid-19 workers who have actually done as much as they can to help people during the pandemic - not these two who aren't even in office yet.

    Democracy

Here in La La land there is every chance a tourism business owner would do just that, Tec - depending of course upon where that business is located. Here in the Interior the opposite would Likely be true - the Left Coast is an entirely different matter.

    Democracy

One person. One vote. Urban vs rural areas need very different governments due to the various issues inherent to their locations. The area in which I reside is part of the Cariboo Regional District - a locally elected body of people that oversee issues in our region, raise taxes and make...

    Democracy

    1. I don't believe criminals in prison should have the right to vote. So they would be on my exclusion list. Non-Canadians and those not of legal voting age would be my only other exclusions. 2. Not sure what you mean by the 'committee appointed to run Canada', Tec. I'm struggling with the...

    Conestoga Huts Helping the Homeless

That solves the problem of a roof over their heads bu what about washroom and cooking facilities? Great idea for cities where the temps are fairly mild but I doubt they would provide the warmth needed during some of Canada's coldest weather.

    Left-wing extremism on rise

Why are we Ignoring Left-Wing Extremism in the COVID Economy? COVID lockdown measures are opening the door to extremists, not just because people are spending more time on the internet at home, but because of the huge impact lockdown had on the economy and employment. The effect has been seen...

Elon Musk's Starlink offers fast internet connections to rural Canadians. But it's not cheap

You could be right about pricing, Dex but for rural residents Xplornet is all we've got. Bell is around here too but for some reason has not caught on like Xplornet - I know of no one who connects with Bell in our area. Shaw on the other hand is waaay overpriced especially as one has little...

That's NOT all, Folks! Trump's going to get 4 more years

I had been thinking that voting over the internet was the way to go until I came across the article I posted "Designed to Deceived". After reading it, I quickly decided that would not be the way to go when it would be so easy for well-programmed bots to flood the net voting like a block for a...

Elon Musk's Starlink offers fast internet connections to rural Canadians. But it's not cheap

I signed up after seeing a promotion on the Xplornet website years ago. My total cost was around $100 that included everything except my Buffalo WiFi station. For years my monthly cost was around $75/mth then the company sent out a notice that it was raising its monthly rate - for my package...

Elon Musk's Starlink offers fast internet connections to rural Canadians. But it's not cheap

Never had a problem with my Xplornet satellite, Jin. It can be totally encased in a thick layer of snow or ice and the signal doesn't skip a beat - same goes for high winds. Wish I could say the same for the Shaw satellite which cuts out almost as soon as snow hits it or there is thunderstorm...
