Scientists warn it’s the ‘new norm’ after worst drought in 800 years

And not accurate. The Pacific is not going to stay cooler anywhere.

New study shows half of the global warming in the USA is artificial

Again, you do not see the forest for the trees. The "End Times;" the Rapture, is what Christy, the scientist among the four, is waiting for. The Rapture is what the adherents to Stephen Harper's Church are waiting for. Stockwell Day and all those religious Righters in the US, including a bunch...

Scientists warn it’s the ‘new norm’ after worst drought in 800 years

Added to the equally "new norm" of droughts all over the world one might expect this would penetrate even petros' rockhead.

New study shows half of the global warming in the USA is artificial

Desperation knows no limits. Watts rushes a fairy story days after the BEST study kills all his previous denial. A fairy story written by a college dropout Weatherman (Watts); a mining engineer (MacIntyre); Jones ( a long time nobody and sidekisk of Watts); Christy (the only scientist of the...

Ex-sceptic says climate change is down to humans

Judith Curry has one little bit correct. The paper adds nothing to our understanding. It is just one more measure that confirms all the others and agrees with the conclusions because the evidence is incontrovertible. Mueller does not exactly redeem himself. All this was known and his previous...

    Death knell for AGW

I hope the hat tip to "Small dead Animals" was derisive for it was one of their usual rotting carcases. You may not have noticed that the paper said "in the absence of consideration of clouds, where, of course, clouds are always part of the calculations. A couple of the authors of that paper...

    Death knell for AGW

    Childish and unthinking.

    Death knell for AGW

Why put this on two threads?. It does not make it any more truthful. Dealt with on its own thread. It is not worth doing twice.

This summer may see first ice-free North Pole

Interesting! I note that there is a balance, if not equilibrium, as there is subsidence to the South of the Lakes. I do not see where that shows an impact on water levels. More it seems that we in Canada are rising even further above our American friends.

    Denial site

Far less than now. Far less. The area afflicted by drought now includes hundreds of thousands of sq. mls that were productive until the climate began warming and drying, The whole of the Horn of Africa and the great desertification of the sub Sahara are new. Oddly the drought in the Horn began...

This summer may see first ice-free North Pole

I think that isostic rebound is not really a factor in those areas. It happened long ago and I doubt that there is much lingering effect. That is what is happening in some areas of Greenland now as the ice sheet thins at the glacial outflow points.

    Denial site

What some of the naysayers fail to recognise is that it is climate change that is already killi8ng people off. In the last decade some 500,000 have died as a direct consequence of that change. How many indirectly one can only surmise at the probable millions. That number is increasing each...

This summer may see first ice-free North Pole

How do you see glacial rebound in this? I assume that you are talking of the seabed rise?

    Denial site

The problem with your thinking there is that there is not a direct relationship. We in Canada, for example, emit ten times or more the amount that some other societies do - per capita. It is how we use resources and what resources we use that governes the relationship. Leaving aside matters of...

This summer may see first ice-free North Pole

The Permafrost is not sea ice, kakato. Although it, too, is melting much earlier and, if you do play around in it, you should stick to the truth. There is great concern about Northern transportation and building because of the melting permafrost. A body of warm water does not freeze more...

This summer may see first ice-free North Pole

You possibly meant something by this post? Charitably, I credit you with a momentary brain freeze. That is quite a talent you have, txs. You can debate the measurements of thermometers and rulers? Wow! I am impressed.

This summer may see first ice-free North Pole

Dark and light are not the determinant you think, kakato. For example, the night temperature increase, globally, is greater than daytime. Something that "sceptics" are loath to discuss. The Arctic is warming at twice the rate of lower latitudes and it is foolish to try to claim that this is not...

Top Gear host hits the wall on climate science

You know little of American Universities (others to a lesser extent) where the administrations are usually solidly Right Wing and where many staff walk a fine line between their disciplines and the demands of the administration.

How the GW myth is perpetuated

Jones never did cincede that. What Jones did say was that the warming for a ten year period was not statistically significant. That does not mean that it was ot warming. Looking at the period a few years longer he said it was significant. That shorter period warmed almost as much as in the...
