Alberta declares State of Public Health Emergency

Exactly, and extra protection slows infection rates.

Alberta declares State of Public Health Emergency

What a lot of people don't get is that the vaccine doesn't eliminate risk, but it reduces it by a significant amount. A favorite line among anti-vaxxers is that they have a small chance of dying or even getting hospitalized without getting vaccinated. What they like to ignore is that risk of...

Canada’s Tory party left reeling after dismal performance in federal election

Trudeau thought he could swing a majority based on his approval figures, trouble with that strategy was that calling for an election two years early caused his approval rating to nose-dive. This election was almost a total waste of time and money except for that it extended the Liberal's...

Alberta declares State of Public Health Emergency

The Covid situation has been in constant evolution since day one, and apparently so has the virus. I'm okay with the thought that the vaccine offers some protection, it's certainly better than none. I'll be okay with a booster shot if recommended, it will offer me more protection than not...

Trudeau Liberals surge ahead over Conservatives

It's an easy decision for me this time around. Our two term NDP incumbent has serve his constituents well, pushing a couple of private members' bill through that helped local employment and local environmental concerns, so I will have no problem supporting him. The deeper we get in to this...

Airbnb listing lands Alberta MLA and former taxpayer watchdog Derek Fildebrandt in ho

In this case the "glitch" might better be described as a loophole, allowing someone not burdoned by honesty or integrity to pocket a little extra cash. It speaks volumes that repayment did not come until after he was exposed.

Airbnb listing lands Alberta MLA and former taxpayer watchdog Derek Fildebrandt in ho

Derek Fildebrandt barred from rejoining UCP It looks like Mr. Fildebrandt proved to be too great an embarrassment for the party. That must look great on his resume, "Not Good Enough for the UCP". Not that he really needs a resume. As the publisher of The Western Standard he has found money...

Trudeau has officially kicked off the 2021 election! Check out this analysis of his track record on keeping promises over the past 6 years.

I've been saying that for years. Get people who aren't pledged to toeing the party line, people of honour and integrity. The trouble is those people aren't really eager to dive into the cesspool that is Ottawa.

Corporate Canada would be delighted with either the Libs or the CPC as government, likely a little happier with the CPC and their low taxes low regulation philosophy. The NDP scares them, but the NDP aren't a threat of taking control. Corporate Canada is secure for the moment.

BREAKING: Antifa assault families and children at Christian prayer event in Portland park

This was extremist vs. extremist. There's a 99% chance that the whole "christian gathering" was presented with the underlying intent of an in-your-face challenge with a pre-conceived expectation of violence on both sides. These are not people of honour and integrity, and to bestow these...

    Erin O'Toole Under Fire

Yabbut...politicians run on votes, and there are lots of votes that would just as soon see the oilsands whither and die. They may not be particulalry well-informed, but they still get a vote. There is still an important place in Canada's economy for a thriving oil and gas sector for a few...

In truth, the problem is company policies that service the companies only, that have the support of government. Right now, companies are the problem and government is the enabler.

BREAKING: Antifa assault families and children at Christian prayer event in Portland park

Just to put this in perspective, Artur Pawlowski, the "Christian" delivering the service has a background in anti-LGBT activism, Anti-Gay activism, Anti Abortion activism, and latley has taken up the Anti-Mask torch resulitng in multiple charges for violating Alberta's Covid Publoic Health...

    Erin O'Toole Under Fire

There used to be a time when the corporate equation held management, shareholders, employees and suppliers in equal esteem. There was some concern to see that everybody was treated fairly and was able to benefit from the relationship. Then a guy named Milton Freidman wrote a little essay that...

    Erin O'Toole Under Fire

In this case I'm "pro" seeing Albertans get a fair return on what are technically publically owned resources. It stinks of corporate greed and government pandering that these companies can claim "record production" and climbing profits and at the same time driving down wages and job...

Production and profits are what they are, I'm looking at it from the perspecitve that maybe Albertans should see some return on Alberta resources, not have to watch their slice of the pie shrink while the profits head elsewhere.
