That's easy to explain it's called displacement. For it to snow in San diego it had to be warmer than usual somewhere to drive the cold that far south.

You knew the definition of winter was decreased sunlight hours didn't you? Or you never thought that might be why it gets cold in winter and more sunlight hours in summer makes it warmer? Have the hours of sunlight changed?
