I feel you are incorrect. The CBC enjoys a lofty position of protection and is very very biased politically. The issue with Jian Ghomeshi alone shows they cannot regulate themselves. I had a huge laugh when the CBC did an in depth investigation on themselves with the Ghomeshi issue. Pathetic.

People are multi-faceted. We all have our dark sides. I never saw any of this but I only knew him before the events of his Mother's passing and the court case so all I know on the subject is what I read like most everyone else. Things before that I can comment on personally.

Yes, you cannot pour grease down the drain on septic. Also, I hate that they label baby wipes etc as "flushable." They wreck many a septic system but are just as bad in sewer based systems too.
