Then Mark Carney dismissed the referendum as undemocratic, complaining Albertans "didn't vote for this in the last provincial election" and that it wasn't in the governing party's platform.
If that is the best carnage can come up with, he is doomed. The vote they are about to have amounts to a pleblecite, which is little more than asking taxpayers which way the might want the government to go. Has zero to do with their platform.

The stupidity of this whole thing is that how do you "consult" on something that hasn't & likely won't even happen? The judge got it wrong, for sure.
Natives get to vote yes too. With land and oil/gas,/mineral rights owned by Natives they'd own the Rez not the Crown because it would be a Republic of Alberta.

Eventually first nations will be the majority and look back saying "Holy fuck ah, fuckin whitie set us up good.". Anyways.
