Quandary,Russia invaded Gerogia, not the other way around. Why do you always bring opinions from these anti-american sites and present them as 'truth' without even giving them a slight bit of srutiny? Are you trying to persuade people to hate America? Off-topic,but as of yesterday morning the 57 Islamic countries representing approx. a billion people had won 3 medals at the olympics. Why is that,o holy one? No music,no alcohol,no sports,no fun. What do your people do besides pray and hate?

Nor can you blame innocent American victims for Bush's crimes.

Suppose some madman took a shot at someone - should you take the blame for it? Of course not.

What you vote for either democrat or republican and that being independent means that you dont vote.?? or as we call them no voters.
In the US the only two parties politicans are normally affiliated with in a federal election are Democrat and Republican. Usually someone runs under one or the other party. However, there are some candidates who run as independents, meaning they run with no affiliation to anyone. They are their own man or woman.

When voters call themselves independents they generally mean they don't support any one party over another but will likely make a decision to vote based solely on the people running. They could vote for a democrat or a replublican, or anyone else for that matter. They aren't maried to either ideology and will cast a non-partisan vote.

Can you name any who reach congress..?Can they became presidents ,are such people like Reagan, TV ,personalities ,and celebrity's, and stuff..? Do independents in the end have to affiliate to one or the other ..?

Usually the occasional politician will break ranks with his party and become independent. And some are successfully reelected. I believe Joe Lieberman is one. http://lieberman.senate.gov/

Being independent could be like being a third party in a minority government. If the numbers add up, your vote may hold the balance of power on some congressional voting issues. Or it might not mean much. It all depends on the structure of the elected congress.

not sure if this has anything to do with anything, but i recently remembered a place i lived back in N.Y. a while ago. it was on an old army base that they turned into an apartment complex. and there was a large field and range behind the apartments that were off limits. apparently they still had bombs and weapons back there that they would test and/or work on. and this was in the country part of the state where my graduating class was 33. just a small thought

The ignorant have been rightly blamed since the beginning of time gopher. That is a fundemental, a postulate of life on this planet that cannot be escaped . Here is where we can examine the much bandied about buzz phrase "personal responsibility". I hold the American public directly responsible for the rise of George Bush and his stunning two terms. At who's feet do we lay the blame if not the American public?
You have one of two choices, that the USA is not a functioning democracy and the election was stolen twice by Diebold or that the electorate is so bloody ignorant that they exercised true democratic choice and elected a lying monster. Which is it? In either case, as I see it, ignorance and not innocense is the cause.
Further to that. What remedy can we expect if that same electorate will not educate itself in order to break the perpetual habit of electing criminals and why against all nature should the rest of the planet wait while the collective American mind is elevated to responsibility? It is only natural that the USA should fail by it's own corrupt hand, that is the way of things.
