People urged to chip in for hydroelectric project

It makes me wonder if people here will be ready and willing to pitch in like that when the time comes. Would you give up some of your salary to help equip our nation quickly if petroleum collapses, with alternative fuel supplies? Would you be willing to hand over a chunk like that because your country has fallen on hard times?

We've chipped in for the existing infrastructure and maintenance and some basic development of new infrastructure, yes. But, 'what if '? This article is talking about 50% of their wages over a two month period to try to rush the job. I wonder how that would go over for some major unforeseen eventuality here.

Wouldn't it be better if they didn't rush the job? We have seen first-hand what happens to structures when corners are cut.8O
