New 'Bin Laden tape' threatens EU

In a new audio message purportedly from Osama Bin Laden, the al-Qaeda leader threatens the EU over the re-printing of a cartoon offensive to Muslims.
The voice on it says the cartoon, re-published recently in all major Danish newspapers, was part of a crusade involving Pope Benedict XVI.

The drawing, first published in 2005, depicts the Prophet Muhammad with a bomb in his turban.
The voice on the audio has not yet been verified as belonging to Bin Laden. The message comes on the fifth anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq.
But the BBC's Jonathan Beale in Washington says that the message was probably released to not to mark that anniversary, but rather the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, which Sunni Muslims mark on Thursday.

Great Satan
I wish we'd had known before that all it takes to make the Religion of Piss angry is cartoons...

We could have saved a lot of bullets.

More power to the Danes, at least they are showing some backbone.

Keep on with the blame Bush stuff though...only have a few months left before it is terminally irrelevant.

Good point...

When will America and Americans show some backbone and reel in their war mongers?

There's more coming.

On March 28, a Dutch movie maker will release a movie calling Mohammed a fascist. Dutch TV has rejected the film but he's going to release it on the Internet. It has already stirred animosity in the middle east, and could lead to scenes similar to the Danish cartoons.

I hope Osama doesn't include Britain in this proposed attack as Britain was one of the few EU countries, if not the only one, that DIDN'T publish any of these cartoons.

That would depend, are Britain's hands are clean of any strife with the Taliban?

And why not?

A celebration of free speech in an atmosphere of terrified acquiescence would be invigorating........an acknowledgement of how bold we SHOULD be in the face of fanaticism.

Ugh . . People! The man is dead!

This is all bull$hit!! If you can't see how messed up this all is then i am truly scared because that means i'm surrounded by people who prefer to listen to themselves wax poetic in an effort to make themselves look intelligent rather than wake up and realize that we are being unabashedly lied to in order to further a criminal agenda drawn up by the real terrorists. I don't know how you all aren't insulted by the fact that 'they' think you're all idiots.

Remember, Hitler only got away with it for so long because the world LET HIM. He also thought the world was comprised of fools. And why did they let him? Because they didn't know what was really going on. Why? Because he knew how to twist the truth and LIE to them.

History only repeats itself because we let it. And i see history unfolding right before our very eyes.

I'm not presuming to know who (or more like they) is at the bottom of this but i don't believe that Osama Bin Laden is alive. I remember hearing this a couple of years ago and the whole Bhutto interview only solidified it for me.

I urge you all to really THINK about it. If you know anything about kidney dialysis then you would at the very least see that things don't add up.

Let's leave Hitler out of the equation. Of him we know he is in heaven long time already!;-)
Osama, on the other hand, is well and alive and planning his next strike!! CIA knows all about it!
The CIA's director warns that the lawless border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan has allowed Al Qaeda to establish a safe haven representing a "clear and present danger" to the West.

Michael Hayden said Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press" that the U.S. has an interest in the area because intelligence agencies believe Osama bin Laden is hiding there.
If another terrorist attack struck America, it would almost certainly originate from that area, he argued.

So, what's the real meaning of this announcement? Any clues? There is a hidden meaning, imo.

No I don't think so DC... It's standard operating procedure for fear mongering. And this should be what should make people angry. I believe Colpy is absolutely correct, an unwillingness or apathy or however you with to characterize it is better than ammunition to the criminal elements that are rapidly overtaking Iraq and Afghansitan.

While the situation continues to deteriorate, I'd like to ask where is the American cowboy today? What happened to the "we'll hunt him down...we'll git him..."?

Not enough of a brouhaha to warrant flushing trillions of dollars down the toilet for when you've got Iraq. You've got to have defense industry contractors replacing materiel and hired mercenaries using consumables in the field to keep the merry-go-round profitable.

Either it is true that 160,000 Russian troops with modern air support and far more modern technology failed because the Americans were backing the Mahujadeen in Afghanistan in their frothing-at-the-mouth fea of the RED MENACE....or there is a reluctance on the part of the American government and the Pentagon to comit to completing what they started.

Now there will undoubtedly be somone who whines that "We didn't start this thing...some lunatic extremists flew planes into the WTC...they started this!!!"

Fair enough put up or shut the fuque up about your war on terror!

Eradicate the poppy fields and let Pakistan know that further intansigence on their part will result in economic and political sanctions and get the job done that America claimed was the only just and legitimate resonse to a criminal attack on their nation.

All the rest is magazine and TV propaganda.

Do the job or get the hell out and admit you're not any more capable of finding and eliminating Islamic extremists in Afghanistan than you've been in trying to clean up the mess you created in Iraq!

Candian troops and all NATO troops should be withdrawn from the theater until action is taken by the United States. And that's just a beginning.
