I've watched the show myself and looking at the amount of homework my daughter (9) brings home, I often wonder how much of what they're learning will they use in their future.:-?
Here's another "Smarter Than a 5th Grader" question to try:

Using your head to add, take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000. Now add 30. Add another 1000. Now add 20. Now add another 1000. Now add 10.
What is the total?
