Hmm.... Ya know, I really HATE Bush, and thus I'm tempted to say that the republicans should be out of there. But. I like McCaine a lot. He seems (let me stress, seems, since people have a bad habit of putting on masks), like a true president. Party politics aside, he seems to be able to stand up and do what's needed, versus what's wanted by a party or by corporations etc. He doesn't seem to have a corporate hand running the show, unlike some I could name. If he were to run, I think he'd win it. And I think it would honestly be a great thing for the US. But, I don't think the views of a housewife from Northern BC matter much in the election of a US president. lol.

Whether you are Candian or not your opinion (in my opinion) is what I think will bring McCaine or Guilliani into office.

I think Hillary is too polarizing and I think with Obama being an African American will hurt him.

The GOP front runners are not polarizing. Everyone know there is a big difference between McCaine or Guilliani to Bush.

Anyone who doesn't pander to the extreme left or right. Dem or Rep. Even moderate left or right is fine. Both parties can offer that IF they don't require nutcase fringe votes to win elections.

I'll tell you what a lesbian friend told me about Hillary........She's to Butch. Personally I think she lacks demention.........shes 2 dimentional.

Now THAT was funny. What is troubling about the Dems is that they always manage to send a total knucklehead to the Presidential run-off save for Bill Clinton.

Look at them... Dukakis, Gore, Mondale (I guess he wasn't too bad), Kerry. These guys were unelectable. Why would the Dem Party send a guy like Kerry up against the most vulnerable sitting President in history?!! Did they want to give the GOP a chance?

But Hillary is extreme Left and Obama is an African American. Both WILL count against them I assure you whether you are enlightened or not.

The GOP front runners are centrists. I tell you... the next Pres will be a Republican.

That's good. Put a Republican in. I'm not against that. I just have no interest in extremist nutcases like GWB. I'll take Rudy or McCain. I'll also take Hillary.

I think Obama is just what the american people need. How I worry for him, is that he won't be alive
to win the election.

I often wonder why, a person who is half white and half black, is called black. He is always referred to, as a black man,( same as Tiger Woods, who is half black and half Thialand, and they say also a little american indian.) He seems to me to be the perfect fit, as he has both races in his blood, isn't that
really what the u.s. needs, a true balance.
If he looked like his mom, like a white person, would he still be called black by the u.s., it would be
interesting to me to know, what they would call him.

There are still so many biggots in the world.

What the u.s. has to get rid of, is the far right conservative religious biggots, and the far left
goof balls. and concentrate on the true moderates, but I'm afraid politics isn't honest enough to
do that.
It's a real dirty business, as bad as the mafia.

I had no idea he was half and half to be honest. But he is considered an African American. At any rate the color of his skin should not matter but it will.

The term far right religious is just another attack on Christians. People who don't fight back and it is politically correct to bash them.

Doesn't what you're saying imply that all Christians are 'righties' though? If it's 'far right Christian zealots' that a person doesn't like, that still leaves an awful lot of Christian people that they are perfectly okay with. I'm Catholic, and even I can't stand the religious zealotry of some of the right in the US. It doesn't make me anti-religious, just 'anti-nutbar'.

Well that is what the "Religous Right" is portrayed to be is it not? I am not implying it but when you hear Right Wing Religous Nuts they are indeed referring to Christians is that not so? They aren't talking about Jewish people, and surely not talking about muslims. That would not do to bash those religions.

Here is an example. I read an article yesterday that a school in New Jersey caused an uproar while conducting a School Hostage taking drill. In order not to offend muslims they went the EASY route. The people acting as the terrorist took on the role of... wanna guess?

Right Wing Christian Extremists

Now we all know that muslims would never take over a school full of children (see Russia) or a bus of children (see Israel).

I am Catholic and Anti-nutbar as well but we are easy targets.

What will happen to the school administrators? Nothing

Will Christians protest? No

Hmm... I'm torn on that example, since in your country, chances are they were taking roles as extreme versions of themselves, rather than someone they don't understand. That doesn't seem totally wrong to me. I've done that in several role playing scenarios for counselling seminars. Trying to take on a role you have no familiarity with can cause problems.

One drill uses Christians and now everyone is anti-Christian? What is wrong with adding more than Muslim extremists into drills? They aren't all Muslims. Waco? Oklahoma City? Why on Earth do they have to be Muslims or people are labelled PC?

Half of GWB's Presidency is Iraq. The other half has been finding a way to overturn abortion laws, pass same sex marriage constitutional amendments, emergency Terry Shiavo situations, stemcell funding bans etc. Those are all issues pandering to the right wing fringe. None of those issues even affect them. No one is calling for Muslim social laws in the US. The only people that want special status is the fringe right. The rest just want government to leave them alone.

I'm not referring to anyone 'passive', the far right religious groups are very strong politically, and
give the conservatives millions upon millions to carry 'their' agenda into government.

I don’t know which party I prefer but both John McCain and Rudolf Galliano seem like really good choices. As fare as the democrats go I like Lieberman but he isn’t even running. I think what is much more important then who is president is that the same party does not control both congress and the house. The separation of powers is why such good Governance was brought under the years of Clinton.

Speaking of Religion, if the Repub are elected again.
Which will happen when you know what freezes over, the US might as well give in.
Why; because they will not be able to afford the pocket lining of the current group, that is running the show.

For any Presidential candidate to get my vote this time, I need to hear the following:

Pull back all of our troops from every single corner of the planet.

A constitutional amendment balancing the budget.

Implement an environmenatal policy that decreases pollution and ends our dependence on foreign sources of energy.

Term limits for Senators and Reps.

Eminent Domain reform.

Restructure the Health Care system to provide health care to those who can't afford it.

Pay down the National Debt.

Be it Republican, Democrat Consitution Party, Marijuana Party, I don't give a rat's ass.

Part I: Who I would hypothetically vote for:

President: Republican, I think Gulliani and McCain are really strong candidates, and I would be happy with either for the nomination. As long as they stay away from social reform (abortion, same-sex marriage, stem-cell research, etc.) and do NOTHING there, then they'll be fine.

Obama is not experienced enough, the media built him up, and he is not up to par for being president, and imo he is far-left, because Hollywood is behind Obama, not Hillary. Obama is a media creation, and nothing else, and the American people need to realize that.

And Hillary? Well I would take her over Obama, but I feel I could never vote for the woman... I mean the biggest issue for me is, her husband cheated on her and she never left him. I mean to me and MANY people its as if its a political marriage not a marriage of love. That has to be her top goal, trying to prove her relationship with Bill to the American people.

Who will win?

Most likely Republican. McCain and Gulliani are strong candidates, and people like them. If either of them is put up against Hillary then its in the bag for the Republican party.

Obama will be the bigger competition. If Obama is nominated it will be harder for the Republicans, but people still have that racial-problem that is still evident in America. I think either way its going Republican.

But I agree, it would be nice to see a Republican presidency, and see the Senate and Congress chopped up between parties.
