The NDP has never been a credible party for me and many people.

Same with the greens.

Honestly all these 3rd parties are a waste of time, why can't we just be a 2 party system like the USA.

But wait , the USA is mostly D/R but they have other parties , but they rarely get support.

I think Canadians should just shaft the other 3rd parties and be either Lib or Con.

Ralph Nader cost Al Gore an election he already had won by popular vote. That hasn't exactly turned out well.

I don't think you would want a two-party system here. If the success of the Conservatives is a result of no vote-splitting on the right, then what would they do when the left represents 60% of voters at their nadir?

The last time there was really two legitimate parties in election, Jean Charest was the leader and the PCs could hold an official party meeting at a Tim Hortons corner table.

You have to be a troll. Why on earth would you want to limit your choices? What if neither party represents your views. For instance I think in Canada the liberals are better on social policy (except maybe crime, justice and the environment) while the CPC are better at economic policy and foreign policy.

So say you want a protest vote because you don’t like either of them. Unfortunately I am not much of a fan of the alternatives either. The greens and NDP are left wing loonies. The freedom party is great on social and economic policy but terrible on foreign policy and like the CPC they have questionable policies with regard to the judiciary. The Canadian Action party is a bunch of tin foil hat nuts. Really there are not a lot of good choices but I’d rather have three bad choices then two bad choices. Maybe independent is the way to go.

Unfortunately they represent quite a few people. I wish the freedom party was the third party. Or even the marijuana party.

parties don't always have the sole objective of comign to power. Sometimes it's just a case of raising awareness. Sometimes it's just for fun. We can't forget the monster raving loony party of the UK. The more parties the better IMO. Three mainstream parties is a minimum

Just saying Jack and crew are hitting green party numbers!

I know and I don’t care because I don’t like either party. As I said I whish the freedom party or the marijuana party was the third party choice. Then there would be three or four parties I could conceivably vote for instead of two as I’ll never vote NDP or green.

Huh? What do you mean? By presenting a voice that doesn't agree with your views? You think we should get rid of certain parties and cut off representation for differing views compared to the conservatives and liberals? I thought we lived in a democracy? These parties aren't disturbers...they ensure the health of our democracy.
